Candle & Culprit is operated by Romano Silverio Marco, sole proprietor, Piazza Caduti, 08048 Tortolì (NU), Italy, VAT IT01705730917 ("we", "us"). Contact: support@candleandculprit.com.
We create and license digital murder mystery dinner party games, such as "Halloween at Villa Serafina". These terms apply to every purchase made on this website.
How your order is processed
- Payments are processed by Stripe through its Managed Payments service. At checkout, on receipts and for payment support, you deal with Link, Stripe's checkout service, which acts as the reseller (merchant of record) of your order. Your order is shown as "Sold through Link", and your statement shows LINK.COM followed by our name.
- Link calculates and collects any sales tax, VAT or GST due, and sends your receipt and invoice by email.
- The prices on this website include tax. At checkout you may see the price converted into your local currency.
- Payment and order support is provided by Link at support.link.com. For anything about the game itself, write to us.
What you buy
- Digital downloads: printable PDF files (A4 and US Letter) and, depending on the edition, MP3 audio files, a video and a phone version made of private web pages.
- What each edition includes is listed on the product page at the time of purchase.
- Nothing is shipped.
- The games are for adults.
Delivery
- Your download links appear on the confirmation page right after payment, and we email them to the address you used at checkout.
- If a link stops working or you lose the email, write to us and we'll send new links.
Your license
- When you buy a game, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive license to use it at your own private parties.
- You may print as many copies as you need for your guests, and share the guest files and links with the people you invite.
- You may not resell, publish, share publicly, or use the games for paid or commercial events without our written permission.
- All texts, illustrations, audio and design remain the property of Candle & Culprit.
Right of withdrawal (EU and UK consumers)
- As a consumer in the EU or the UK, you normally have 14 days to withdraw from an online purchase.
- For digital content that is not supplied on a physical medium, you lose this right once the download or access has started, if:
- you gave your express consent to immediate access;
- you acknowledged that you would lose the right of withdrawal;
- you received a confirmation of this on a durable medium, such as email.
- At checkout we ask for this consent with a checkbox, and we confirm it by email.
- If you haven't downloaded or accessed anything yet, you can withdraw within 14 days using the withdrawal function at /withdraw, or by writing to support@candleandculprit.com.
Our 30-day guarantee
If the game doesn't work as described, tell us within 30 days of your purchase and we'll refund you in full. This guarantee is in addition to your legal rights, and doesn't limit them.
Legal guarantee of conformity
If you are a consumer in the EU, you are entitled to digital content that matches its description and works as stated. If it doesn't, you can ask us to fix it, or to reduce the price or refund you, as provided by law (Articles 135-octies and following of the Italian Consumer Code).
AI disclosure
The illustrations, the photos of people used to show the mood of the evening, and the narrator's voice in the audio and video are generated with artificial intelligence tools. The stories, rules and texts are designed for the game and checked by us. Villa Serafina and all characters are fictional.
Liability
- We are responsible for the games we sell as required by law.
- We are not responsible for the food, drinks, recipes or events you organize with our games: follow the allergen notes and use common sense in the kitchen.
- Nothing in these terms limits rights that you have as a consumer under the law of your country.
Governing law and complaints
- These terms are governed by Italian law. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live, and you may bring proceedings in the courts of that country.
- For any complaint, write to support@candleandculprit.com: we reply within 2 business days.
